Kayla Doucette is a clinical social worker in our pulmonary department, but her journey at Connecticut Children’s began when she was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia at age 11. During her three years of treatment, Connecticut Children’s became her home away from home. Today, she works alongside many of the same nurses, doctors, social workers, and child life specialists who cared for her during some of her toughest days.
