Frequently Asked Questions
Parking is available at the Department of Motor Vehicles located at 60 State St in Wethersfield. Parking lot closure TBD.
There is additional parking available on the streets throughout Wethersfield.
The 5K Race and Mighty Mile courses are fully paved, and we welcome participants of all abilities, including those with strollers and wheelchairs. The Community Bash will take place on grass.
Yes, portable restrooms with handwashing stations will be available on site.
This event will take place rain or shine. Registration fees and fundraising commitment registrations for the 5K Race and Mighty Mile are non-refundable.
In the event of severe weather, event organizers will carefully assess conditions and determine whether Superhero Sunday needs to be canceled. Please check our social media channels for the latest updates and announcements as we get closer to April 26, 2026.
Advance packet pickup will be available to pre-registered participants at Heirloom Market on Friday, April 24 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. (please register prior to Friday, April 24).
Registration and immediate packet pickup will not be available. Participants who register after April 23, 2026 are asked to visit the Registration Check-in Tent on event day for packet pickup.
No — fundraising is not required to take part in Superhero Sunday.
Anyone can register for the 5K or Mighty Mile without a fundraising commitment. We also offer a “5K with Fundraising Commitment” option for participants who want to make a bigger impact by committing to raise a minimum of $40. If that fundraising minimum isn’t met after the event concludes, the remaining balance will be charged to the card on file.
The Community Bash is free and open to everyone — no fundraising and no pre-registration required.
We love animals, but please leave your household pets at home for Superhero Sunday. Service animals are welcome.
No, we recommend you leave your belongings with a friend or family member.
Yes, food trucks will be on site. Please remember to bring a form of payment.
Yes! Hydration and first aid stations are located throughout the course.
Yes! We welcome everyone to join in and be part of this amazing event.

Yes, we will accept walk-up registrations the day of the event. The Registration and Pre-registration Check-in Tent will open at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2026.
Yes! Feel free to bring your family and friends to cheer you on during the race and join the fun at the Community Bash afterward.
