Extra Life is a year-round gaming program that raises funds for Connecticut Children’s. Participants can recruit friends and family to enjoy video games, board games, outdoor sports, or they can invent other activities in support of young patients.
Extra Life hosts a 24-hour gaming marathon nationwide annually on the first weekend of November, where participants* can play and fundraise for 24 hours, with area businesses staying open to welcome participants.

At 6 days old, baby Jordyn had to undergo life-saving surgery to correct pulmonary stenosis, a condition where the valve that controls blood flow to the lungs is not opening wide enough. Today, Jordyn possesses a competitive drive and determination that lets everyone around her know the sky is the limit.

"I first became involved with Extra Life 6 years ago. At first I was new to the whole concept but getting involved was so easy! Extra Life starts from registering and then you can make it what you want. You can pick your game of choice and you can play for the kids! I had never streamed before, or knew anything about how to ask others to donate, but the Extra Life community has always helped me and supported me with any questions. Over the years, I have been able to grow my Extra Life donors and fundraising. Getting involved with our local group of gamers has helped me realize the significant impact I truly have on the patients and families at Connecticut Children’s through Extra Life. The friends I've made through Extra Life, along with seeing the impact my donors and I have created with Connecticut Children's inspires me every year to keep fundraising for kids in need at Connecticut Children’s."
